Innovation isn’t a milestone. It’s in motion.
Eric Alexander, Director of MBSE Services

Too often, organizations treat engineering innovation as static – a stack of documents, a siloed model, or a one-time review. But like a concrete truck, if the engine stops turning, the mix hardens and becomes unusable. To stay relevant, engineering must remain in motion: continuously adapting, integrating, and pouring out the foundations of future capability.
Over the next eight weeks, we’ll explore how “Innovation in Motion” comes to life across systems engineering, digital engineering and leadership. Each post unpacks a dimension of how organizations can keep their innovation ecosystems alive – from requirements to sustainment and from leadership to infrastructure.
HERE’S WHAT’S COMING:
Week 1 – MOSA: Unlocking the Win–Win. From mandates to momentum.
Week 2 – MBSE: Dissolving Silos – Connecting people and data into a living hub.
Week 3 – AI for Digital Engineering: Lead the future or be left behind.
Week 4 – Systems and Software Architecture Alignment: Bridging the gap for true interoperability.
Week 5 – The Power of PLE: Product line engineering supersets that enable mission adaptability.
Week 6 – MBSE Doesn’t Stop at CDR: Extending digital threads beyond critical design review (CDR) into test and sustainment.
Week 7 – Training and Infrastructure: Building the enablers of lasting ROI.
Week 8 – Systems Engineering as Leadership: Seeing more and before others.
Across all eight, the message is clear: Innovation isn’t static. It’s in motion. We’ll share observations from the field, lessons from large-scale programs, and perspectives from practitioners who believe engineering should be a living, breathing system of learning.
And because innovation is a dialogue, not a monologue, each post will close with a few probing questions. We want to hear how you’re tackling these challenges, where you see opportunities, and what lessons you’ve learned. Your insights can spark the conversations that keep this community moving forward together.
Because in today’s environment, standing still isn’t an option.
It’s time to keep innovation in motion.
